Looking for something fun, easy, and different for that special event, such as a birthday or team-building exercise? Let us host your event.
The 111-year-old West Toronto Lawn Bowling Club, with its iconic century-old clubhouse, is the perfect venue. If you’re interested, please email us with the date, time, and number of people you expect to attend.
What you need to know:
• We require a donation of $30 per person (minimum $400 per group) for two hours, or $40 per person (minimum $500 per group) for three hours.
• Our volunteers will be on hand to host your group and help throughout your event.
• We provide all necessary bowling equipment and coaching.
• The length of your event can vary based on the format you choose (single-game, multi-game tournament, etc.). Depending on the number of attendees and other activities you may have planned, events usually take about 2 to 3 hours to complete. We’re happy to help you set up teams in advance so everything runs smoothly for you and your group.
• If your event is in the evening, it must wrap up by 9:45 pm, as our permit only allows us to use the facilities until 10:00 pm.
• There is no dress code. Some groups like to theme their event (such as dressing in traditional “whites”) but you simply need to wear flat-soled shoes (no heels at all) and comfortable, non-restrictive clothing. Change rooms are available inside the clubhouse.
• The West Toronto Lawn Bowling Club is located at 275 Keele Street (in Baird Park), about 1 km north of Bloor (about a 10-minute walk from Keele subway station).
• The closest TTC bus routes are Keele Street (Route 41 North/South) and Annette Street (Route 26 East/West).
• Street parking is available and a Green P parking lot is located just north of Annette (351 Keele Street). There’s also ample bike parking at the club.
The West Toronto Lawn Bowling Club is now on Facebook. Check us out for regular updates about the sport and to see photos from the club. Find our Facebook page at facebook.com/torontolawnbowling.

It would appear everyone who attended the 2015 West Toronto Lawn Bowling Club’s 2015 Open House left happy, but the smiles sported by Ward 14 Toronto City Councilor Gord Perks was a little bigger.
— Toronto Lawn Bowling (@TOLawnBowling) June 6, 2015
Perks, along with Provincial Parliament member for Parkdale-High Park Cheri Dinovo and club members Edward Fraser and Steve Shallhorn, defeated a representative Ward 13’s Sarah Doucette‘s office, Chris Haskim, who was teamed up with Peggy Nash, Member of Parliament for the Parkdale-High Park, and WTLBC members Stephen DeKuyper and Sue Watson.
It was the fourth annual “Grudge Match“, which is held each year at the WTLBC Open House. If you missed the Open House but would still like to try lawn bowling, come out for a free lesson and game any night we’re open.

The bowls were rolling and the sun was shining on West Toronto Lawn Bowling Club in the Junction. 2015 has officially started and we welcome members back to the new year.
New players are welcome anytime for an introduction to the game. Thank you everyone for making opening day a great success! See you on the greens.

In early January, Ward 13 Councillor Sarah Doucette accepted the 2014 Centennial Cup from WTLBC past president Steve Shallhorn. During the WTLBC’s summer open house “Grudge Match”, Doucette led her Ward 13 team to victory over Ward 14 to reclaim her 2012 crown, the first time the Centennial Cup was awarded.
The Centennial Cup commemorates the 100th anniversary of the West Toronto Lawn Bowling Club . Councillor Gord perks led Ward 14 to Victory in the 2013 Grudge Match. This year’s open house will be Saturday June 6 and will feature a free introduction to the sport and free coaching.
The Grudge Match between Wards 13 and 14 will start at noon sharp.
Over the weekend, men’s and women’s trebles teams competed in the District 10 Novice tournament for a chance to play in the Ontario provincials in Sarnia.
Harry Hainey, Tom Trattner & Richard Cripps were the victors on the men’s side, while Sandy Johnson, Pat Barnett & Shirley Walker came away victorious in the women’s draw.
Thanks to everyone who came out to the Open House on Saturday. We were blown away by the turnout and grateful to all those who gave the game a try (and even more thankful for those who decided to join the club!).
We gave away some nice prizes to those who entered the draw…
And local politicians Cheri DiNovo, Sarah Doucette, Peggy Nash & Gord Perks battled for the Ward Trophy…
If you weren’t able to make it out and still want to try lawn bowling FOR FREE, you’re welcome to come out any night on our bowling schedule. (If you could let Arlene know ahead of time (contact her here) or tweet us so we can arrange to have one of our teachers give you a brief lesson before the game, it’d be much appreciated.)
